Hello everyone, I am going to make this article short and concise. I present to you today an info graphic, covering a subject that ways heavily on my mind when I think of modern day society. Hello friends, and thank you for visiting today. I bring to you today a quote from author James Allen, someone whose books I highly recommend!
SELF CONTROL IS STRENGTH, RIGHT THOUGHT IS MASTERY, CALMNESS IS POWER…
As usual, I will provide you with an illustration of this quote from my perspective.
1.SELF CONTROL IS STRENGTH
Self-control is a strength because giving in to every emotion you feel is actually shows no strength at all.
2.RIGHT THOUGHT IS MASTERY
Right thought is mastery because the way you think controls what you feel, and what you feel controls what you eventually do.
3. CALMNESS IS POWER
Think of a mountain,
an oak tree, cedar, or redwood, think of deep waters like a lake. Or perhaps even a humpback whale. Now, what do these things have in common? They can all be described as calm, the calming effects of a mountain, giant tree, deep waters, or seeing a humpback whale are undeniable. However, the real question is what the “calming” effect do you have on people and situations in your life. This is a major source of power that you simply must develop.
Well, everyone, I hope this post has inspired and enlightened you. Please share my blog with your circle of friends and as always Godspeed in your quest for self-mastery under the Kingdom of Heaven.
Greetings everyone, I know it has been a while since my last post. However, I am working on something that will bring even more interesting content to the “Warrior Wisdom Blog”. If you are a subscriber or regular visitor I am sure you are going to enjoy it! For now I will provide you with my illustration of the following quote by Buddha… HANGING ONTO ANGER IS LIKE DRINKING POISON AND EXPECTING THE OTHER PERSON TO DIE…
Let me tell you my strategy for dealing with those that trigger anger. You must:
Realize that everyone has character flaws, do not be deceived…
2. Recognize the character flaws of a person before they even engage you…
3. Value your time and resources and do not feel pressured to interact with someone who you know has character flaws that will cause you harm, and trigger your anger. Realize that being “selectively social” is not popular do not expect a lot of endorsements for embracing this mind set.
4. If you are already involved or have already been harmed and your anger triggered. You have got to have the courage and discipline to disengage, before you make a permanent decision over a temporary emotion.
5. Lastly when you disengage you have got to “emancipate yourself” from the mental and emotional slavery of anger. Perpetual anger is simply toxic, it is indeed a poison for you mind and soul… Set yourself free and become inspired with the fact that you now how have a blue print for protecting yourself from being triggered in the first place…

Hello everyone, I hope you have all been doing well, and feeling inspired and powerful. I present to you today a simple African proverb,
“SMOOTH SEAS DO NOT MAKE SKILLFUL SAILORS”.
In life we have all faced what can be described as “rough seas”. It is how you view those situations that determine how you handle them. If you VIEW them as hopeless, destructive, or back breaking, then you will have little to no determination, drive, or energy, to find answers and fight your way through.
Moving forward because you chose a hopeless VIEW, you will indeed HANDLE those times hopelessly, and those times will become destructive and back breaking for you.
To change the way you handle life you must change your VIEW. Always look at rough seas as training moments, any training a person goes through helps them to acquire skills. Look at it this way, you do not have to go through the “rough seas” blindly and thus haphazardly acquire the skills in question.
You can seek knowledge on just about any “rough sea” you could ever face. In the 90’s I spent hours upon hours in libraries and book stores 3 or four times a week for years with 20 to 30 books on the table absorbing knowledge. Nowadays, Google, or YouTube has tons of “how to’s”, there is simply no reason for hopelessness, especially with prayers. Keep in mind also that these are lessons anyone would want their child to know, so why not foster such knowledge in your own life?
So, in summary VIEW the “rough seas” as making you a skillful sailor, after all you ARE the captain of your soul…
Greetings fellow wisdom seekers. As always it is my hope that today’s post finds you healthy, wealthy, wise, and powerful. It is also my hope that today’s post will make you even wiser. Below is a short story about a Chinese farmer written by Alan Watts.
The story goes like this:
Once upon a time there was a Chinese farmer, who lost a horse. It ran away. And all the neighbors came around that evening and said, “That’s too bad.” And he said, “Maybe.”
The next day the horse came back, bringing seven wild horses with it. And all the neighbors came around and said, “Oh, that’s great isn’t it?” And he said, “Maybe.”
The next day his son was attempting to tame one of these horses and ride it. He was thrown and broke his leg. And all the neighbors came around in the evening and said, “Oh, dear that’s too bad.” And the farmer said, “Maybe.”
The following day the conscription officers came around looking for people to recruit into the army and they rejected his son, because he had a broken leg. And all the people came around and said, “Well that’s great isn’t it?” And he said, “Maybe.”
Many times in my posts I provide an in depth illustration of what’s presented. However, I find that the lesson in this story shines through with surgical precision. I could summarize it like this however, in life remain poised, hold your “horses/emotions” (when things happen) and never get ahead of them. Always take note and learn from everything good or bad, knowing that there is always more than meets the eye. Sometimes what we see our don’t see may just be a matter of limited perception…
Hello, everyone, I share with you today another bit of wisdom as usual in parable, riddle like form. TRANSPARENT, BUT APPARENT. TRAINED EYES SEE…
In life there can be many traps set by very clever predators.
All of us would definitely call a spider an apex predator. What or who have you seen in this life can be compared to spiders.
Think of the very intricate webs they weave. Think of how clear and almost noticeable the webs are. How many of us to our terror have accidentally run into a spider web? Think of the panicked way we flail around trying to get untangled. Now think of an insect who runs into the same web and ask yourself if the insect had seen the web would he still have flown into it? Now as you know here at the “Warrior Wisdom Blog” I use a lot of metaphors. I leave you with a question on this topic. What are the webs in your life that you need to avoid…
And now a bit of good news! I have recently started a store based on my concepts I teach. Below you will find a shirt illustrated the article you just read. If you like my blog and have been inspired by what I share. Please Rep The “DO” by purchasing one of the awesome tee shirts on the site. The store is just beginning and there will be much more merchandise added in the weeks to come. Join me in promoting Warrior Wisdom by wearing merchandise with a wise message. The name of the store is The “DO” collection, DO means way in this case the “Way” of Shu Ha Ri Do Warrior Wisdom. You do not have to be a martial artist to be wise, but it is my goal that every Shu Ha Ri Do martial artist will indeed be wise. Godspeed in your quest.
Greetings everyone, it is my prayer that my post finds everyone motivated and inspired on the path to self mastery, the life long journey. Today I bring you a thought which I will illustrate and summarize. The thought is simply, “Respond wisely, even when you are treated unwisely”. Let me tell you from experience that this will be one of the continuous challenges of your life. The wiser you become, the better you will treat people, however, the wiser you become it will seem like some people treat you worse. It is a conundrum I have noticed. You will find that you will have to grow in your humility, and patience as you will find yourself pardoning others often. Don’t be discouraged, this is the path of self mastery, this is the true “Warriors Path”. And now for the 3 areas…
WITH STRANGERS OR PEOPLE WHOM YOU HAVE NO CONTINUOUS ASSOCIATION
These are people whom you see randomly like a mail lady, cashier, neighbor, business owners, etc. Please understand that these people are not in your circle. They should be no where near your heart so their unwise treatment should not matter as much. If they annoy you, you can go to another restaurant or store. You also do not have to respond, silence is a great source of strength. You have no obligation to maintain a dialogue with them. So you can “unplug” their negative unwise energy with silence.
Now here is where we take a step closer to the heart. Now my advice is to protect your heart by maintaining a certain level of separation when it comes to work. How you can you protect your heart simply by being professional and objective. Am I saying that you should show no feelings? Absolutely not. However, as we all know some co-workers can treat you very unwisely. So you must maintain a high level of professionalism. At work you will many times find yourself in awkward positions where you feel forced to interact with a co-worker who treats you unwisely. At those times remain focused on the objectives and let the objectives be your common ground just throw your energy into getting the job done and dominating your work. Again remember that “silence is a great source of strength” you can also “unplug” the negative unwise energy of a co-worker with being silent whenever they attempt to treat you unwisely. If the treatment continues and they leave you know choice, you can go to the next level and get management involved. However, utilize silence repetitiously before you do and watch your wisdom will shine like the sun.
Here is where we get to the heart of the matter. It is very difficult indeed to simply ignore or remain silent when family treats you unwisely. I can tell from experience that because of your love for them you will be forced to pardon family members. Some of them will absolutely break your heart with how they treat you. It is something that if you continue to build yourself up and maintain a strong relationship with God, you will be prepared to do. Many times due to our love for family members they are actually able to grow and become better people. However, there is a limit to how much unwise treatment we should take from family. When the unwise treatment endangers you, other family, or household safety, is where the line should be drawn.
Well everyone, I just wanted to illustrate and summarize a thought that was on my mind. Hopefully you found this article useful, Godspeed in your quest for self mastery.
