Generating power for striking II

In this video I show the first stance my students learn.
Although in styles many of us have trained in like Muay Thai,
MMA, etc, start in a fighting stance. I utilize the Man Sau
stance to teach my students how to generate power from the
ground without turning their shoulders.

UNIQUE FORMS AND MOVEMENTS OF SHU HA RI DO CALLED “COMS”(COMBAT MANEUVERS)

As some of you already know within Shu Ha Ri Do there are original

movements, and forms that are called COMS short for Combat Maneuvers.

When I created Shu Ha Ri Do 20 years ago I wanted to represent all

phases of combat, from distance, close quarters, and the ground. Each COM

expresses all phases of combat. Although we do mitt training, bag work,

FOCUSED GROUP

sparring, shadow boxing, and so much more. I felt in order for Shu Ha Ri Do

to be a complete system forms i.e COMS were necessary.  A COM like a Kata

can be considered meditation in motion.  So when a student practices the

techniques in a COM repeatedly thousands of times he is actually training

his mind for a scenario. When that scenario presents itself the mind has

seen it so many times that the body seems to move by itself as if on auto

pilot!

SHOWING TWO TECHNIQUES FROM FLEX FIST BOXING

In the video below I illustrate two principles from my Flex Fist Boxing

concepts. The Closing Fist, and the Spinning Fist are only two of several

techniques that I teach in Flex Fist Boxing. Flex Fist Boxing principles are

guaranteed to increase your speed, explosion, and accuracy. I have no doubt

that you will appreciate what you learn from my teachings. They are time

tested, proven principles. Feel free to subscribe, and share you thoughts.

The Importance of “Explosion” In Shu Ha Ri Do Techniques

In Shu Ha Ri Do I teach students to go from zero to 60 in one beat or one count. In this video I explain this concept a little more in depth.

AN INTRO INTO FLEX FIST BOXING

In this video I provide a brief intro into the non-conventional boxing concept I created called Flex Fist Boxing. Flex Fist Boxing was designed to increase speed, and explosive power! Using my concepts I guarantee results!

Sifu G. Showing Shu Ha Ri Do punch block patterns on Flex Post

I created my own version of a Mook Jung (Wing Chun Dummy) back in 1992. I trained on the dummy for several hours every day for years. During that period of time I developed my own punch block patterns. These patterns were the very beginning of my creation of Shu Ha Ri Do in 1998. These patterns are absolutely only the beginning of the 7 belt system I call Shu Ha Ri Do. A system that includes conventional boxing, full contact karate principles, muay thai, wrestling, submission, creative elements, even animalistic forms.

Two of my recently promoted Sisooks (apprentice instructors) working Shu Ha Ri Do Gold belt techniques.  Tai Sisook Cam, and Shen Sisook Trent embody the true essence of the Shu Ha Ri Do Code.

HISTORY OR “HIS”-STORY?

Another poetic nugget of truth from my book “The Book of Hai Clue”.

Who’s Story?

History
Has a story

What is it?

To absorb it
You must pay a visit

Take caution however, not to embrace

“His” story
In “True” History’s place

“His” story will glamorize
What ought not be done

Like Murder
Immorality
And many other evils
Considered to be gallant or fun

Are you listening to it’s lesson?

Think it’s boring?

Think it doesn’t apply?

For the sake of a nation

History answers the
Hard questions of
Who, What, When, Where, How and why?

AROUND THE EARTH THREE TIMES???

Greetings everyone below is a poetic nugget of truth from my book “The Book of Hai Clue”.

AROUND THE EARTH THREE TIMES?

It has been said that life is a highway,

of such an analogy
there can be no denial,

did you know,
the amount of blood vessels in the human body

measure 75.000 miles?

PERSPECTIVE:  According to scientists the distance around the Earth is approximately 25,000 miles. So one human being’s blood vessels can stretch around the earth 3 times? Wow! We are truly wonderfully made!
