Hello everyone, welcome to segment #2 of “Best Street Defense”. In this video I will be showing a very simple but useful strike to the ear that can incapacitate someone quickly. Remember, repetition is the key to mastery, 1,000 reps for discipline and 10,000 reps for mastery!

BEST STREET DEFENSE TECHNIQUES #1

Greetings everyone, I am starting a series of videos showing some of the “Best Street Defense” techniques in Shu Ha Ri Do. The video below is #1 showing the effectiveness of the “Spear Hand”. Keep in mind as you watch and practice my techniques that there is no “silver bullet” technique. View all techniques I show as tools for your toolbox that will help you provide appropriate “solution” for the appropriate “problem”. As you watch the video you will see the simplicity and usefulness of the technique immediately.

A SNEAKY COUNTER PUNCH TECHNIQUE YOU SHOULD LEARN.

This is a technique featured in phase one level two of Shu Ha Ri Do. This is what I call “simultaneous block and strike”. To do the technique correctly you must be sure to move your head in addition to the slip block. The slip block is like guiding your opponents punch over your shoulder and returning a strike at the same time. Repetition is key to mastering this and any other technique. You must repeat, repeat, repeat, and repeat again.

NEWLY PROMOTED STUDENT ENTERS THE ANIMALISTIC PHASE AND IS PRESENTED WITH HIS BLUE BELT.

As I have mentioned before, within Shu Ha Ri Do there are 7 phases. Blue the “Animalistic” phase is the 4th. In this video I present a newly promoted blue belt student with his belt and his first tie. In the “animalistic” phase students train in the characteristics, nature, and fight attributes of the Boa,Elephant, and Eagle.

Hello everyone in this video you will see scenes featuring two of my students testing for gold and red belt. There are 7 phases in Shu Ha Ri Do, gold belt is the 2nd phase and red belt is the 5th phase. I am pleased to say that they passed their tests. This video shows a good cross section of what the physical techniques of Shu Ha Ri Do are about. Boxing, kickboxing, kung fu, full contact karate, judo, wrestling, submissions, my signature “Flex Fist Boxing, and Combat Maneuvers (COMS).

THE INTELLIGENCE, & BRUTE FEROCITY OF THE ELEPHANT. PHASE 4 LEVEL 2, THERE IS MUCH TO IMITATE.

As I have mentioned before that Shu Ha Ri Do is a system that I created in 1998. Within the system there is an animalistic phase which is phase #4. Level #2 of phase #4 is the elephant phase. Just as with level #3 “the eagle/bird” students are encouraged to look at the useful qualities of an elephant as it relates to character and self defense.

The Elephant is an incredibly impressive and powerful animal. Much can be uncovered about it’s nature by observing it on a deeper level. If you are interested in hearing more about the unique concepts of Shu Ha Ri Do feel free to leave me a message in the comment section below!

STREET READY TECHNIQUES, COM #4

As many of you are aware, in Shu Ha Ri Do I teach movements that I call COMS or Combat Maneuvers. Each movement is a street ready combination that I put together in 1998. Before the black belt phases there are 7 core phases of Shu Ha Ri Do. All phases except phase 3 the grappling phase, contain Combat Maneuvers. In this video you will see a demonstration of COM #4.

INSPIRING SHU HA RI DO TRAINING VIDEO

Just a little 1 minute clip of segments from a Shu Ha Ri Do training day with inspiring music in the background. The lyrics are “every single day, I’m gonna make something great, that’s my way”. Indeed it has been my way for the last 28 years striving to live a lifestyle worthy of following. A Kingdom lifestyle. All of my passion for learning and sharing righteous knowledge culminating in the creation of Shu Ha Ri Do in 1998. Talk radio shows, speaking engagements, 4 books, and over 700 students since that time. So, once again my focus was and still is to create something great everyday. Even if it’s a small ripple of goodness in the life of someone else I’ll accept it!

SHU HA RI DO COMBAT MANEUVERS (COMS) STREET READY TECHNIQUES

These techniques are called COMS or Combat Maneuvers. These are to be practiced repetitively. However, know this the idea is not that you will hit an opponent with every shot. That is not practical. Landing 2 or 3 shots is a more reasonable expectation. You train repetitively on all techniques for muscle memory. As a result when the opportunity presents itself your hands or feet hit by themselves…

WHY KHABIB AND HIS CAMP WERE SO ANGRY AT CONOR McGREGOR. THE TRUTH!!!

Khabib has threatened to leave the UFC unless the apparent double standard stops. Obviously, I do not condone wreckless acts, however, in this video the You-tube channel host @joeingram1 investigates what has been missed by many about Conor’s behavior. There is more to the story, things are not what they seem. As you watch this video, think of everything that I teach and write about in reference to Shu Ha Ri Do. Think of the title of this blog “WARRIOR WISDOM”.

It is my view that all warriors should live by a code, that includes among other things honor, integrity, humility, and wisdom. Having a code is important because as warriors we are trained in combat strategies so as my slogan states “Wisdom Before Combat” is very important.
