Welcome to the Shu Ha Ri Do website. Although Shuhari is a Japanese word, Shu Ha Ri Do is influenced by Kung Fu, Muay Thai, Wrestling, Jeet Kune Do and other systems. My title is Sifu however, I could have just as easily been called Shihan. The word Shu Ha Ri describes the stages of learning all the way to mastery. It is sometimes referred to in other disciplines, as Go. Shuhari roughly translates to "to imitate, to create, to master". This site is all about martial arts techniques, inspiring quotes, safety, awareness, and uncommon knowledge regarding self mastery under the Kingdom of Heaven. Interested in training in Shu Ha Ri Do martial arts visit 17842 S Dixie Hwy 33157 Monday and Wednesday 4:30 to 7:00 pm or contact Sifu G. at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Hello everyone, I hope you have all been doing well, and feeling inspired and powerful. I present to you today a simple African proverb,
“SMOOTH SEAS DO NOT MAKE SKILLFUL SAILORS”.
In life we have all faced what can be described as “rough seas”. It is how you view those situations that determine how you handle them. If you VIEW them as hopeless, destructive, or back breaking, then you will have little to no determination, drive, or energy, to find answers and fight your way through.
Moving forward because you chose a hopeless VIEW, you will indeed HANDLE those times hopelessly, and those times will become destructive and back breaking for you.
To change the way you handle life you must change your VIEW. Always look at rough seas as training moments, any training a person goes through helps them to acquire skills. Look at it this way, you do not have to go through the “rough seas” blindly and thus haphazardly acquire the skills in question.
You can seek knowledge on just about any “rough sea” you could ever face. In the 90’s I spent hours upon hours in libraries and book stores 3 or four times a week for years with 20 to 30 books on the table absorbing knowledge. Nowadays, Google, or YouTube has tons of “how to’s”, there is simply no reason for hopelessness, especially with prayers. Keep in mind also that these are lessons anyone would want their child to know, so why not foster such knowledge in your own life?
So, in summary VIEW the “rough seas” as making you a skillful sailor, after all you ARE the captain of your soul…
Greetings fellow wisdom seekers. As always it is my hope that today’s post finds you healthy, wealthy, wise, and powerful. It is also my hope that today’s post will make you even wiser. Below is a short story about a Chinese farmer written by Alan Watts.
The story goes like this:
Once upon a time there was a Chinese farmer, who lost a horse. It ran away. And all the neighbors came around that evening and said, “That’s too bad.” And he said, “Maybe.”
The next day the horse came back, bringing seven wild horses with it. And all the neighbors came around and said, “Oh, that’s great isn’t it?” And he said, “Maybe.”
The next day his son was attempting to tame one of these horses and ride it. He was thrown and broke his leg. And all the neighbors came around in the evening and said, “Oh, dear that’s too bad.” And the farmer said, “Maybe.”
The following day the conscription officers came around looking for people to recruit into the army and they rejected his son, because he had a broken leg. And all the people came around and said, “Well that’s great isn’t it?” And he said, “Maybe.”
Many times in my posts I provide an in depth illustration of what’s presented. However, I find that the lesson in this story shines through with surgical precision. I could summarize it like this however, in life remain poised, hold your “horses/emotions” (when things happen) and never get ahead of them. Always take note and learn from everything good or bad, knowing that there is always more than meets the eye. Sometimes what we see our don’t see may just be a matter of limited perception…
Hello, everyone, I share with you today another bit of wisdom as usual in parable, riddle like form. TRANSPARENT, BUT APPARENT. TRAINED EYES SEE…
In life there can be many traps set by very clever predators.
All of us would definitely call a spider an apex predator. What or who have you seen in this life can be compared to spiders.
Think of the very intricate webs they weave. Think of how clear and almost noticeable the webs are. How many of us to our terror have accidentally run into a spider web? Think of the panicked way we flail around trying to get untangled. Now think of an insect who runs into the same web and ask yourself if the insect had seen the web would he still have flown into it? Now as you know here at the “Warrior Wisdom Blog” I use a lot of metaphors. I leave you with a question on this topic. What are the webs in your life that you need to avoid…
And now a bit of good news! I have recently started a store based on my concepts I teach. Below you will find a shirt illustrated the article you just read. If you like my blog and have been inspired by what I share. Please Rep The “DO” by purchasing one of the awesome tee shirts on the site. The store is just beginning and there will be much more merchandise added in the weeks to come. Join me in promoting Warrior Wisdom by wearing merchandise with a wise message. The name of the store is The “DO” collection, DO means way in this case the “Way” of Shu Ha Ri Do Warrior Wisdom. You do not have to be a martial artist to be wise, but it is my goal that every Shu Ha Ri Do martial artist will indeed be wise. Godspeed in your quest.
Greetings everyone, good morning, good evening, and goodnight wherever you are. I present to you another round of Wisdom For Warriors in an excerpt from James Allen’s “Path To Prosperity”. As I have mentioned before this author was incredibly on point in his writings. As you should know by now if I endorse an author or anything on the “Warrior Wisdom Blog” it will definitely be beneficial. James Allen is a lesser publicized author that I fully endorse, his work is incredibly profound and insightful, and is a must read for all truth seekers. With that being said enjoy the excerpt.
Whether one be fearful or fearless, foolish or wise, troubled or serene, within that soul lies the cause of its own state or states, and never without.
And now I seem to hear a chorus of voices exclaim, “But do you really mean to say that outward circumstances do not affect our minds?”
I do not say that, but I say this, and know it to be an infallible truth, that circumstances can only affect you in so far as you allow them to do so.
You are swayed by circumstances because you have not a right understanding of the nature, use, and power of thought. You believe (and upon this little word belief hang all our sorrows and joys) that outward things have the power to make or mar your life. By so doing you submit to those outward things, confess that you are their slave, and they your unconditional master.
By so doing, you invest them with a power which they do not, of themselves, possess, and you succumb, in reality, not to the mere circumstances, but to the gloom or gladness, the fear or hope, the strength or weakness, which your thought-sphere has thrown around them.
In other words “your mind makes it real! For example as soon as you start to tell yourself anything negative like, disease, disaster, or hardship, take note of what happens to your stomach. Take note of how your hands may begin to sweat. You can make your blood pressure rise off the charts simply by thinking! Please understand this, you are not simply a victim of circumstance. At least you do not have to be, whatever happens in one moment, you have the next moment to counteract it and make things better. I also write about these things in my book “Harness the Power Within and Without. You have only to decide and learn to think differently, it is all up to you.
Hello everyone, I present you today with a bit of wisdom from the book of Proverbs in the Bible. These words are surgical in their presentation of how to keep chaos out of your life. If you scroll through all of the articles that I have posted on this blog you will see how my words are a constant echo of what you are about to read. It is my hope that some people somewhere are inspired by the “Warrior Wisdom Blog” if so my work is not in vain. With that being said enjoy…
1 My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, 2 turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—
3 indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, 4 and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, 5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to
those whose walk is blameless, 8 for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. 9 Then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path. 10 For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. 11 Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. 12 Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, 13 who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways,
14 who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, 15 whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.
Greetings everyone! I come to you this fine day once again presenting you with “wisdom from “The Book of Hai Clue”. I am sure most of you have an idea by now that The Book of Hai Clue brings forth uncommon truth. So without any further commentary I will leave you to ponder the truth below, and as always Godspeed in your quest…
No Energy can be created or destroyed only changed
that’s what is said of course…
Well, what or who was the source?
What or who was the original type?
There is “one” who dwells in unapproachable light…
Who is seated above the heights…
Permeating all things…
Seen and unseen…
However, what is said
is, sight is supreme…
Has sight ever seen?
What pushes the stream?
It was once said that the smallest unit
of energy visible was indivisible…
Before long, this was proven wrong…
It seems that what we think is not dissectible…
Only becomes more and more undetectable…
Yet human reasoning says…
“Rest assured everything can still be measured
what cannot be brought to bear
is simply just not there…”
Well, the presence of an invisible intelligence
in light of the evidence
is hard to speak against…
with the use of clever,
Faith, inspiration, intuition, and spiritual wisdom
become ostracized and…
Only what can be seen and understood through,
get presented as bonafide…
Truth however must be sought as one who digs a well
still doesn’t ring a bell
still feel that evolution can never fail?
well, crack the shell
and do tell
whether you see intelligent design
inside of the cell.
The Golgi Apparatus just one of the many “sub machines” within the cell.
Hello everyone thanks for visiting today, tonight, or whatever part of the day it is where you are. I bring to you today a wise quote from Dr. Martin Luther King. As usual I will provide my summary and graphics to further illustrate the point being made by Dr. King. Internalize the wisdom from this quote.
NOTHING IN ALL THE WORLD IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN SINCERE IGNORANCE AND CONSCIENTIOUS STUPIDITY… -Dr. MLK–
What is sincere ignorance?
Sincere: True, honest, open and genuine
Ignorance: Lack of knowledge or information
Why is it dangerous?
Because sincerity, openness, and genuineness mixed with a lack of knowledge creates a false sense of understanding, delusion is the result.
What is conscientious stupidity
Conscientious: characterized by extreme care and great effort
Stupidity: The opposite of intelligence, it is usually responsible for many acts that follow the words, “Hey, watch this!”
So what we have with this quote is either someone with a lack of knowledge who “genuinely thinks” they understand. Or someone who puts forth a “great deal of effort” to be unintelligent on the subject in question.
My advice, seek knowledge then seek to understand and apply what you know. Never confuse “sincerity” with “knowing” something. You can be sincerely wrong. Never stick to what you “think” you “know”, always seek to become more and more “intelligent” about the things that matter in life.
As usual my friends and students, Godspeed in your quest for wisdom.
