Many people justify smoking with the statement “well you gotta die of something. Well, my first question for someone who says that is, why provoke your own death. The second thing I would say to that person is you may not die, you may live to 95. However, you could be living with, a collapsed lung, no voice box, no teeth, dependent on an oxygen tank or worse. And then you die all be it a slow and painful death but all provoked by you. If you are thinking of smoking please think long about this. If you are already smoking I encourage you to pursue professional services if needed, but by all means don’t take another puff!
This is a technique featured in phase one level two of Shu Ha Ri Do. This is what I call “simultaneous block and strike”. To do the technique correctly you must be sure to move your head in addition to the slip block. The slip block is like guiding your opponents punch over your shoulder and returning a strike at the same time. Repetition is key to mastering this and any other technique. You must repeat, repeat, repeat, and repeat again.
There is a process to becoming. YOU CAN CHANGE! You can become the righteous person that God wants you to be. There is a process to “becoming”. It is not a “magical” thing where all of a sudden you just change every character flaw you ever had. You must learn yourself, what your patterns, triggers, and temptations are. Then, you “program” yourself with the opposite.
If you desire to become more patient, kind, loving, humble, faithful, loyal, unselfish (all things which the bible calls fruits of the spirit Galations 5:22) then reprogram your mind with these things. Just know you MUST TRAIN! REPETITIVELY! Remembering the principle of “thousands of repetitions” not tens or hundreds. Becoming masterful at something takes at least ten thousand repetitions so know from the start that walking this path is for the rest of your life! So, THINK, FEEL, DO CAN BE SUMMARIZE LIKE THIS:
